Laboratory tests of animals in Warsaw

You can perform laboratory tests on your dog and cat at the Wetmedic clinic in Warsaw every day, seven days a week. We cooperate with several Polish and foreign laboratories. We receive the results within a few hours. At the client's request, we send the results by e-mail, or they can also be collected at our reception.

Please remember that your pet should not be fed for at least 8 hours before the planned blood test.

Laboratory tests of animals - Urine tests

We perform urine tests on site or send them to a laboratory. Animal urine testing is best performed on a fresh urine sample. If we are unable to deliver fresh urine to the clinic, the collected sample should be stored in the refrigerator, but urine stored in the refrigerator should be tested after a maximum of 6 hours, so the sooner you deliver the collected urine to us, the better. We collect urine into a special container purchased at a pharmacy, such as for collecting urine from humans. Your pet should be tested for urine at least once a year.

Veterinary examination of animals - Stool examination

We perform stool tests on site or send them to the laboratory. The most frequently performed fecal examination in animals is parasitological examination. Stool samples should be collected for testing 3 days in a row, so it is best if the collected samples are stored in the refrigerator (in plastic bags) between collections. We bring signed stool samples from 3 days to the clinic. Stool samples should be collected in containers purchased for this purpose at the pharmacy.

Laboratory examination of dogs and cats - Microscopic examinations

The microscope is an often underestimated diagnostic tool. In the course of many dermatological diseases, viewing a print from an animal's skin lesion under a microscope can be an invaluable aid in making the correct diagnosis. A microscope is an indispensable tool also in the case of parasites that are found in the animal's blood, but also on its skin or in its feces.

Bacteriological tests, mycological tests

This type of tests are most often used by a veterinarian to find the specific cause of an animal's disease process. This happens, for example, in the case of cystitis, when a urine culture should be performed, or in the case of dermatitis, when obtaining an antibiogram may also be helpful. You have to wait a little longer for the results of these tests, usually from a week to three.

Histopathological examination of animals

Fortunately, histopathological tests are performed more and more often in animals. The tests can be used both to examine a surgically removed organ, its parts, and after a biopsy, i.e. after taking a sample of a diseased organ or lesion. Thanks to histopathological examination, we can distinguish benign from malignant tumors and, if necessary, apply appropriate treatment. You should wait about 10 days for the results of the histopathological examination.
